The most comprehensive book available on the Newcastle and Hunter region, this book is the perfect souvenir for both locals and visitors. Written and photographed by passionate Novocastrians, it covers everything from the history of settlement to the current wave of development and innovation that is making Newcastle one of Australia’s best places to live. The scenic beauty of the region is combined with the great restaurants, cultural venues, wineries and an abundance of education, sporting and recreation facilities. Newcastle truly has ‘got the lot’ and Newcastle: Heart of the Hunter celebrates this rich diversity in stunning photographs and entertaining text, while a chapter on the region’s memorable moments highlights those people and events that have made headline news across the years.
